As much as I love veggies, I’m just not a big fan of my greens in the mornings! But who is?! Sweets and caffeine will always call my name, but my busy schedule doesn’t allow me to suffer from a sugar crash, so I started cooking up some yummy morning recipes. My Organic Vegan Green Smoothie On The Glow Bowl is one morning treat worth waking up early for and only takes minutes to make. My baby boy loves it too!
This breakfast is raw, vegan and plant-based. It’s as clean as it gets! The veggies and protein powder give me so much energy throughout the day. I love Vega protein powder for plant-based protein, but you can use any protein powder that you love!
Eating a clean, plant-based diet has transformed my energy levels, my skin, my body and my brain. After a couple of weeks, you will find your skin is glowing, energy levels are up and sugar cravings are almost gone. I use the Vitamix for my veggie mixes and it only takes minutes to blend. I must say, I now crave veggies in the mornings.
ORGANIC VEGAN GREEN SMOOTHIE ON THE GLOW BOWL
Cook and Prep Time: 20 mins
2 cups organic power greens (swiss chard, kale, spinach)
2 large organic carrots
1 organic celery stalk
2 organic broccoli spears
1 cup organic grapes
1/2 frozen banana
2 scoops protein powder
1 T chia seeds
Handful of ice
Sprinkle of unsweetened coconut, organic granola, slivered almonds, cacao nibs
Add power greens, carrots, broccoli, celery, grapes, frozen banana and ice to blender with a splash of water and blend well. Add protein powder and blend again.
If you’re on the go, pour into a travel cup for a great morning smoothie.
Otherwise, pour into a bowl and add granola, coconut flakes and cacao nibs. Sometimes I like to add blueberries, strawberries or sliced peaches to my bowl for added antioxidants and sweetness!
