It was a day of sweet temptations yesterday. The halloween madness of costumes, chocolate and sugar is over and we can wipe the slate clean today. I don’t know about you all, but when I eat too much sugar I really feel it and lack so much energy. So, I am off to get some fresh vegetables and fruits to offset the sugar crash and will be sharing my vegan grocery list with you for some shopping inspiration. I may even get a power yoga class in later to twist and detox my sugar blues away!
The two questions I get asked most often are: What do I keep in my fridge and pantry? And how do I keep my vegan diet affordable? I will show you that being healthy is easy and totally do-able even on a budget. You got this! I used to go to the store every single day and now that I have perfected my list, I am saving so much money and time.
I go to Costco once a month for lots of bulk items and I just love their organic fruits and veggies. And once or twice a month, I go to Trader Joe’s, Whole Foods or Sprouts for more specialty items. I will show you what was on my last month’s shopping list after making lots of sweet potato mushroom tacos, italian dishes, quinoa bowls and pumpkin recipes for a family of three (my baby boy is quite a foodie and eats A LOT)!
My specialty store lists vary from week to week depending on my recipes and if I will be cooking for larger parties! Keep in mind, I cook breakfast, lunch and dinner and we rarely eat out. And…the holidays are coming so this list will get me through almost all of the baking and cooking I will be doing for Thanksgiving and Christmas!
